As the oldest golf course in Slovenia, its beginnings reach back as far as 1937, although it was thoroughly redesigned and renovated in 1972 by the famous golf architect Donald Harradine.
The 18-hole King’s Course is the largest in Slovenia and is accompanied by the 9-hole Lake Course, featuring chipping areas, putting greens, compact courses, and a driving range. Facilities include a restaurant, lockers, buggies, and rentals for all essential equipment.
Although the courses are surrounded by towering peaks of the Julian Alps and Karawanks, they are not particularly hilly. Decorated by absolute serenity and soothing touch with nature, Royal Bled is one of the most splendid golf courses in Europe and a must-visit for any avid golfer.
And Lake Bled is just around the corner, with the massive walls of the Bled Castle looming above it — a sight not to be missed.
2. Golf Arboretum

Located amid a pine tree forest, Golf Arboretum presents an 18-hole enjoyment to its visitors. Not far away, you can find the most visited botanical garden in Slovenia, Arboretum Volčji Potok. And just above the treetops, you can catch a glimpse of the towering Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
At 5.4 kilometers, the venue has a par of 77 and features a driving range, chipping area, and compact course. As one of the newest golf courses in Slovenia, it still undergoes a modification or two every year to offer an even better golfing experience.
3. Golf Grad Otočec

Sprawling alongside the Krka River, the Grad Otočec golf course is the most recent addition to Slovenia’s golf sphere. The undulating landscape it stands on is enclosed by a forest, providing the golfers with tranquility and seclusion.
There are 18 holes on the course, which lies a bare kilometer from the Otočec Castle Hotel — a medieval castle turned into a 5-star hotel and fitting accommodation for the visiting golfers. Walking can be relatively strenuous on hot days, so the players can use buggies to reach the driving ranges and putting greens.
4. Golf Ptuj

Similarly to Golf Grad Otočec, the Golf Ptuj course lies alongside a river and near a castle — Drava River and Ptuj Castle. Located in the middle of a vast plain, you can see for miles in all directions.
The venue has often been deemed the best-arranged golf course in Slovenia. Its 18 holes are known to hide many traps and feature water obstacles where precision trumps strength.
5. Cubo Golf Ljubljana

A mere 15-minute drive is enough to get from Ljubljana’s center to the Cubo Golf Ljubljana course. Equipped with modern technology, it allows nighttime hitting and features open fairways, resulting in fewer lost balls.
The course has 18 holes, including six par threes, six par fours, and six par fives. It boasts a driving range, chipping area, putting green, and compact course. After a day of putting the balls away, you can sit down for a meal at the Cubo restaurant.
6. Golf Livada Moravske Toplice

Golf Livada Moravske Toplice course is located beside the thermal spa Terme 3000. It was built for spa visitors to combine their relaxing holiday with golf. There are 18 holes, a driving range, and buggies available to drive around the course.

7. Golf Grad Mokrice

While it might not be the most well-known golf course in Slovenia, the Golf Grad Mokrice venue features one of the most demanding holes in this part of Europe. Among the 18 fields, the 5th par-four one takes the most out of any golfer.
The course stretches below the walls of the medieval Mokrice Castle across green fields surrounded by forest. Even a lake serves as a natural obstacle. It shares one similarity with Royal Bled — its designer was Donald Harradine.
